1. 100 Gallon Compact Wall Reef Aquarium

    Hello all,

The brief for this wall aquarium consisted:

The tank should have vibrant fish colours and fit neatly into a space between a TV room and kitchen. The client was happy to perform light maintenance duties in between our provided aquarium cleaning service.

Installed in Brighouse, Huddersfield UK. This relatively young marine tank is still under going stocking. It currently houses a nice selection of reef fish and corals. However, more corals are due to be added over the next few months.

The build started with the manufacture of a bespoke metal frame. This frame has adjustable feet which are slightly in set to allow for the skirting board.

The next step is to install the display and sump tank and level the system. The display tank utilises an external weir box which you can see to the right of the tank. Normally weirs boxes are installed inside a tank meaning they can take up valuable space. This one fits snugly into the kitchen units and is hidden once the kitchen doors are closed.

Next, the necessary filtration equipment is installed. At this point the aquarium can also be plumbed and lighting put in position. We also fill the aquarium to perform a circulation test and commissioning.

Twin exit pipes allow for near silent water circulation. This was very important due to the location of the tank in the house.

Once TV room side of the aquarium is finished with clean beading the tank can start to be stocked.
